have had a very good weekend; thought about and wanted to go home to see doug and his family, but doug already had friends there, and i figured the last thing his father needed was someone else parading around his room while he needed to be resting...so i just decided to stay here.
friday night juile and i unexpectedly went to baja burrito. just a decision of the moment on the way home before we got onto 24. after that we went to media play at 100 oaks and they had some kevin smith inaction figures for 75% off. so i picked up brodie and silent bob at the decent price of 2.50 each. they had a bunch of audio tapes for 10 cents, and i got one titles 'welcome to the future'. which is funny since it came out in 92. but it had a moby remix, a sugarcubes song remixed and some other somewhat interesting artists of the time. and in a bin of cds marked 75% off i found a dvd of u2 -go home, which was a concert they filmed in 2001. and julie got a vegetarian cook book that was suppose to be 75% off. so we begin checking out and the inaction figures ring up at 1 cent each. ... i said nothing. the u2 cd rang up at full price, so we had her mark that down 75%, and then julie's cook book rang up at 99 cents, which was a good bit less than what it should have been. so we get out of there with a total cost of $3.54 cents. freaky weird. after that we went to comp usa but i didn't find so much in there. around this time i got the wild hair to go watch shaun of the dead. unfortunately their next show was at 9:45 and it was only 8:00 or so. so we went into michael's for a bit and came back towards home. except i thought i'd check out the theaters over here to see if there was a closer showtime for shaun of the dead. not so much. so then we went to media play over here; didn't find much of anything there, but i did go ahead and by a 36 cassette case for the wagon. ..so i might take you up on that offer to bum some tapes from you doug. : ]
saturday we went out to get groceries as usual but stopped at this "tool and scooter' tent sale infront of kroger over here. i bought some needle nose pliers and a cool funnel while julie got a trowel. then we cleaned up the apt a bit, watched the u2 dvd, then watched shaun of the dead. after that we came back home and was going to watch a dvd a friend at work had lent me, but it was cracked. hope he believes me when i tell him i didn't do it. so we watched some family guy and firefly. around 7 we went over to ed and trish's house (technically our house) to watch what julie thought was a 'new' the office special, but turns out it was the christmas special. it was just new to bbc america apparently. it was funny. and before going to sleep i got the wild hair to go to phonoluxe on sunday to look for more audio cassettes.
so today we went to phonoluxe after sleeping in a bit and watching some more family guy and firefly. i only got sunday bloody sunday from u2 and this fire from paula cole. i have both of those on cd, so it wasn't quite the haul i was hoping to make. but i did get star wars, empire, and jedi all on vhs. in their original versions before lucas started fucking around with them. ever since these newest dvds were announced and all the changes documented, i had the strong desire to go get the movies as i remember them, not how lucas 'envisioned' them. i also picked up a little something for doug. i think i'll hold on to it and make it a xmas present as i'm always a little prat and never get anyone anything for xmas. it's not much, but i think he'll at least get a little use and enjoyment out of it. after that we went to k&s international market; didn't get anything, but julie was just looking for cornstarch. then we went to lowe's to try and figure out what kind of flooring we want ed and trish to put down in their kitchen before we move in. then yet more family guy.
