julie started work with me on thurs. it's pretty cool so far. don't get to see her too much kinda like i figured. but the option is always there. except my boss took me aside on friday and said she didn't want me interrupting much and to, well basically she wanted to nip it in the bud with anything about me and juile hanging around each other too much. *shrug* my parents were going to come up saturday morning as it was pop's b-day and we were all gonna hang out. but mom played hookey on friday and they decided to get a room at the shertaon like they did a few months ago and just stay over in nashville friday night. so after work friday juile and i ran over to eat out with them and hang around and catch up. we ate at darfon's again and all was good. saturday i got up and got some things done and then my parents came over and we went shopping at the mall for a good bit, then we went over to florida seafood kitchen cause pop wanted some fish. grouper to be precise. my parents were quite surprised by the size of the portions; even pop couldn't finish the two big pieces of grouper he got. after all that we came back here to work on the subaru; pop determined from the mechanic that the vacuum modulator had gone bad and caused all my woes, so we'd try to replace it and see if that'd fix it, though the mechanic pretty much assured us that by this point the tranny was shot. so i took the old one off and replaced it, but not untill i'd spilled about 1qt of transmission fluid everywhere. shit squirted out on my hands and then i couldn't screw the new piece into place. but the short of that story is that it doesn't seem to have fixed it; but the modulator was only $15. shortly after that my parents left and julie and i just hung around here a bit and tried to decide if we wanted to go to the suzanne vega concert at exit/in. we finally decided to go and i'm glad we did. it was general admission and we were about 6-8ft from suzy herself; and it wasn't too crowded..but i guess that's not really a good thing. show didn't start till 9.30, and that was the opening act; suzy came on stage around 10.30 and played till a bit past midnight. oh, and not that i really care, but al gore was up in a little balcony section for most of the concert. today julie and i have done some cleaning around the house and got some groceries; also we watched the anime remake of metropolis. not so much a remake really. i wasn't that impressed with it. to take the story back a bit we also watched grave of the fireflies thurs night; we rented both of the above mentioned movies from the library over here (let's here it for free!). grave of the fireflies was one of the saddest movies...it should have just seemed cheesy to me, and i had i not been with juile i might not have had the same reaction/feelings but we were both just bawling by the end of the movie.
