so it dawned on me today that there doesn't seem to be as many b-sides as there use to be. tori and radiohead for example use to have just as many b-sides as album tracks it seemed, and now there's hardly anything. doug was talking about how they don't sell so well as singles, and how the market seems to be getting away from singles, but i'd always thought of b-sides as just overflow from the creative process, not just something to make more money. at least from the artist's perspective. kind of disheartening.
last thurs julie and i ate supper at camino real and that was thurs night pretty much. friday we ate something in and..just sat around i think. perhaps she did some homework. saturday we did a few things around the apt before julie had to go to work. when she got back we went shopping for some clothes for her to wear to work. got her 4 dresses and 2 blouses/shirts for $25. and i got a 'cheese wedge' mouse as a back for mine for $3! sweet. then we did some food shopping and fixed some soy taco filling and whole tomatoes together to eat with some tortilla chips. we watched bridget jones' diary while we ate. oddly enough it was my idea. i wanted to see something british really. it was pretty good i guess. i don't see how they think/say renee z was 'fat' in that movie. um, sunday we did a bit of laundry and met my parent's in the boro for father's day lunch. after eating, talking, and looking over wedding photos so mom could pick a few more out we went over to rose's and we picked up a few more small things. then we said our goodbyes and came home. julie and i were sitting around doing a lot of nothing; i think she was doing some homework and i was refiling some stuff on my computer and burning some things off when erin called and was in our neck of the woods and wanted to swing by. so she dropped in for a bit and talked to julie mostly as i stayed on the computer. she looked at our wedding/honeymoon pictures mostly. and seemed to not like my musical selections.
oh, and i forgot about the shirt i picked up too. it's for some prescription drug, so on the front it's only got the name of drug on the upper right chest area. but on the back, well apparently the drug is for uh, bowel issues. so it's got this cartoony pic of a large intestine tied up i knots basically and not looking happy. we know it's not happy because it has a face. and above that it says something like 'irritable bowels beware' or something like that. just too funny to pass up. julie didn't seem to like it much though. *sigh* no taste. as is obvious by her choice of husband.
work on the ERA project is moving forward. suppose to have a meeting with the vp of our dept tomorrow to lay out the project plan. well me and another guy and both of our supervisors. i'm sure my cohort will do most of the talking though. which is fine by me i guess. but anyway i guess it's nice to be involved with something else, but there's still not really enough of us for me to be off the phones for any extended amount of time. and i feel guilty when i am.
