well i started to resize some pictures to put someplace and link to from here, but lots of them won't really shrink down to something small enough to not choke my comcast limits..so i don't think i'll put anything up. most of you that read this were there anyway...and if you want to see/have the pictures, i can burn a cd for you, or you can just look at them at my place.
god, i'm still tired, but today it's due to the fact that we got up 'early' and went car shopping today. julie and i (technically me) are the owners of a 2000 honda civic dx vp. got it for $9500 with 52k miles on it. i hadn't originally wanted to spend that much, but it was just too good a car and in too great of shape to pass up. it's a four door and the color said teal, but it's not too gross looking some some 'teal' cars i've seen. so as soon as we can get some insurance things set up, julie will be driving that around.
i'll try and recap the honeymoon, but it's just way too much detail to try and cover, so i'll give the main points and you can ask me about it later if you like. we get to manchester after a connecting flight in washinton/dulles and the car rental place says they're out of mid-sized cars. so i could pick from a jeep wrangler or a minivan. ...we got the jeep. which sucked on the interstate cause a ragtop doesn't keep out much noise. we had to yell to talk to each other almost. um, anyway, we had lunch in exeter, nh and it was really good and rather cheap. we got to the inn right at 6pm which was right at the end of check-in. i'm guessing she still would have let us in, but i told her we'd be cutting it close. sunday night we went over to 'town' and ate at a place called no anchoives. it was an italian place and we both got vegetarian lasagna. very tasty. we looked around town a bit, but most things were closed by that time. monday we were going to shop/walk around town, but the boat/tour to monhegan island was only going to run on monday, so we had to change plans very quickly and run over to the boat. that also reminds me that we almost missed our connecting flight in dulles, and if juile hadn't of noticed that our plane was leaving right as we got to dulles i dunno what would have happened. two or three really lucky things like that happened along the whole way. anyway we went out to monhegan which took 30 mins by boat. we walked around the island for a bit, and it was kinda weird as it was really just an island where ppl were living and not so much a tourist-y type thing. we were walking past/through ppl's backyards to get to 'points of interest'. paid too much for lunch there, but there was only one place serving food open at the time. after that and getting back to boothbay harbor, we went out to eat and to eat out nice. i got 1lb of lobster (whole thing boiled) and she got some wild mushroom ravioli. all of that was very good. we started to get some cheesecake, but it had weird fruits on it, so we got a chocolate truffle thing and got kinda gyped as the truffle was way smaller than the cheesecake, but cost the same. erm, tuesday we walked _all_ over boothbay harbor and shopped around. i got a 'maine' t-shirt for five dolla. i think we at a place called blue moon cafe for lunch that day. sandwiches and an espresso brownie. ..sad how i base the trip around the meals. that afternoon we went out to some little 'beach' about 3 miles from our inn and played around for a bit. there were just tons of shells on the beach and it was kinda odd compared to a florida beach. but this was more of an inlet, not a beach per se. i don't think we ate supper that night. too much food. and we'd eaten at an ice cream shop in the late afternoon. wed we started out for damariscotta, which was a town a little ways inland from us that one of the innkeepers told us about. on the way we stopped at um, dodge's point or something. it was a hiking trail out through the woods. oh, how i wish the mistake djini were there. that place has skeeters bigger than the ones in tn and even meaner. we had to nearly run through the whole trail cause if you stopped, you had at least four of the little fuckers feeding on you. bleh after that we went on up to damariscotta and walked around there for a bit. julie got lunch at some place that i can't remember; she had sweet tater fries though and they were good. i only had a salad. we stopped at a used book store there and i bought julie some book she'll have read in one day, but it only cost 2.50. then we went on to pemaquid point, which has a lighthouse. monhegan had a lighthouse also. but we were totally robbed at pemaquid, cause when we got there, the lighthouse itself was open for visitors, but we took some pictures of the coastline first. then we go over to the tower and they had closed it cause the staircase was getting wet/slippery. the lady at the desk said that was the first time she'd seen the tower open in the 3 years she had worked there. grah! but it was still nice to look at out there. that night we ate at a place called kaler's which was about like an uncle bud's but focusing on seafood. ironically, i got a chicken quesidilla and julie got a veggie one. we were going to eat dessert at the ice cream place, but they were closed. so we ate at this other place entirely..um, something bistro. got a chocolate coconut cake with godiva chocolate icing. thurs morning we didn't have time for much more than breakfast, which was served daily at our inn, which would be a whole 'nother story in itself. but anyway, thurs we stopped back in exeter for lunch on the way back to manchester airport and at the same place. stopped at a chocolate shop there in exeter and it smelled so good inside, but we bought nothing. i did get some fudge in boothbay harbor though. erm, we get to the airport and they say they don't see me as having any reservations for the flight. i show her the printout of the email confirmation. she still doesn't show anything for me, but finally searches on something else and shows that they've switched us over to another flight which leaves one hour later, and has a 3 hour layover in philly. blech! so we sit around the manchester airport just waiting for a bit, then go to philly. it was a rather large airport, and really fucking crowded for a thurs afternoon. we're there for quite a while, but finally make it home and thus ends the honeymoon. i guess. julie went for a job interview at mtsu fri morning; i took her so we could car shop in m'boro for a bit. which did us no good really. last night my parents came up and got a room at the music city sheraton for super cheap. some deal my mom's boss hooked her up with. so we met up with them and ate at darfon's right over where malachi and kimberly use to live. everything we ordered was rather good. they came over and i showed them the pix i'd taken and all the phat l00t we'd gotten from the wedding/shower. and today obviously we went car shopping. lots of cars. lots of salesmen. bleh but i think i'm happy with what got. and julie likes it as far as i can tell. so she says anyway.
enough with the typing for now. me tired.
