i called the hr guy at dollar general friday during my lunch hour. the position sounds pretty good. aparently dollar general is starting up their edi dept, so this position would be building the entire thing from the get-go. pretty much. while that sounds really interesting, i also worry about what if it goes overbudget, or if the upper-managment isn't completely behind the project or something. but i'm suppose to go interview with them tues morning. suppose to go really early as they're trying to work with me so i wont' even be late to work. but i don't think i'll be able to swing it. oh, and i went to the interview for the app support job at hms thurs morning. sounded pretty much like an app support job. haven't heard back from them yet obviously. the training period there was 4-6 weeks, where as it's usually 2 weeks in most places. lots of shit to learn there. i don't feel too motivated to take the job if it was offered...unless it's just a shitload of money more or something. i'm _way_ more interested in the dollar general thing. which kinds scares me: 1) i don't usually like getting my hopes up, cause things rarely go how i want them to, and 2) if i'm so excited about getting another job, it shows that i truly don't like what i'm doing now. *sigh*
stayed home this weekend. did shit all friday night. julie came in pretty late and we went to bed. she had to get up and leave by 8am on sat i think. my parents got here around 10. we dropped mom off at hickory hollow so she could go shopping for a dress to wear to my wedding. me and pop went to the computer show at the fairgrounds. he got two power supplies and a cdrom. i was looking for a slot a mobo and some laptop ram, but found neither. most of the stuff there was newer, and not really any bargains that i could see. after that we came back to the mall. mom hadn't found anything, but i got two nice 'casual' shirts for work and some black khakis for work. erm, we ate in the food court, then went on to home depot where pop was supposedly gonna get a new riding lawn mower. but he got there and i think the cost of it started hitting him and he felt like what little yard they have to mow wasn't worth that kinda money. sounds exactly like how i'd reason something out. so he didn't get anything, and shortly after that they went on home. well, they stopped in m'boro and mom did finally find a dress there. and i did shit all sat night. i went to bed at 1am and i think julie got here at 2am. we got up at 9.30 but she had to go to m'boro to get some clothes and clean up properly as all her stuff isn't really here. she got back and we ran to camino real for lunch, then through target very quickly. which they seem to be remodeling..or adding on to the store would be a better way to describe it. after that i did shit all, all day. well i did do my laundry and discovered the dryers here suck ass. that or i just picked the bum one. juile called around six and said her car wouldn't start..that she thought it was out of gas. so i went to the motel where all her classmates were meeting at and picked her up and we ran over and got some gas. i poured the gas in the car and it started up fine. ...julie may not have wanted me to mention that as i think she was fairly embarassed by it. but apparently the gas needle wasn't doing just right with her. um..and then i did more shit all till now.
training has been rather hit or miss it seems at medifax. somedays we go for hours without doing anything. cara had me do a pet project for her. not sure why she asked me instead of joe. dunno if she didn't think i was doing anything or not, as joe has been doing some other smaller things they've mentioned to us during the past week. i just didn't feel like being arsed with it myself. yet again, another not good sign. i've heard more calls as time has gone on there and i really don't think i'm going to enjoy being on the phone there. i really really hope i get this dollar general job. the commute would suck, but it'd be the first job that i wouldn't have to deal with the phone at all. at least that's how it was described to me. *sigh*
