well the weekend went pretty much as i said it would. saw julie friday and we had a good time. except for this one part concerning a pen, but i'm not getting into that. went home in the evening and ate out with my parents. sat morning my parents and i went to cookeville to eat b'fast and then went on to wal-mart for some reason. but mom found this nifty lamp that matches the fixture in my living room really well. it's a silver lamp with a glass uh, bell/dish on top. but it's frosted just like the fixture on the ceiling so it's pretty cool. and it was only twenty bucks. then i got my hair cut and played dnd with the guys. got to see jody too which was nice. uh, sunday me and pop fixed some computers at dci, had a big lunch at home, and then i headed back here. julie had stayed over sat night and had eaten my crackers, but as i was putting my stuff up she came back in which surprised me a good deal. but she'd run to target to replace my crackers which was supar sweet of her.plus i got to see her a little more. oh, heh, and pop picked up my wedding band. it's shiny. and seems to fit well.
so i go to jury duty today. there was about 200 ppl in total there. on the third round of calling ppl, 24 ppl got called up for one trial, me being one of those 24. they sat the first twelve down and the attorneys asked their barrage of questions. then they let 6 of them off. yikes i thought, that's quite a few. so they bring 6 more up, then let 5 go. crap. the call up 5 more. as you can guess, so far i've not been called yet and am considering myself very lucky. they let 2 go, and call 2 more up. there are only 3 ppl left to pull from. they finally decide on that jury. then they say they need an alternate...'mister joey...brim..brimer' FUCK! i made it that far and finally get called up. they questioned me about my unemployment, if it'd be a problem with my job hunting. i should have said yes and been excused, but like a dope i was honest and said it wouldn't cause much trouble. so..now i have to sit there, listen to all the testimony, and once the jury goes to deliberate, i only do something if someone is sick or out or whatever. so i'm assuming i'll just be excused and that'll be it once the trial is over. which makes it suck even more. it'd be alright if i could actually have a say in the case, but i have to go through all the crap, and don't even get to do anything about it. *sigh*
and i have to go back tomorrow morning at 9am because they obviously didn't finish today since it took like 2 hours just to get a fricking jury.
