*sigh* where to begin. thurs i went to my interview at avega. it went..kinda weird. i only talked to the hr guy. the company is based in la, and i think this guy was from la. the interview was very...fluffy. they didn't seem to ask me much about skills/experience/etc. he just told me the 411 about their company, some history, and their culture. he asked me a few things, but not very much. now i don't know whether to take that as 'we're not very interested in you now cause we've pretty much found someone else, so this is just a formality' or 'we're from la and we're just kinda fruity' or what. they said they'd try and get back with me early this week to let me know if i was to come back for a second interview with the manager of the help desk there. later on that day i went to my second interview at medifax. there was a jumble in the schedules there..or something. i was suppose to meet with the hr lady, but she said she didn't need to see me. so i was suppose to see cara, who i interviewed with last week. but she was out to lunch. so i sat around for 25 mins or so waiting on her to get back. she didn't really need to see me as i was suppose to talk to some vice president after the hr lady, but (wait for it...) the vice president wasn't there either. so i talked to this other guy..though i did learn quite a bit about the company from him. erm, so i come back home and am talking to malachi as he was to come over thurs night. within an hour of getting back from medifax they'd emailed me an offer letter. they were offering a decent bit more than what they said they started out at, but it's still quite low. it's just a bit less than what i was making when i started at bradford 4 years ago. so obviously that's a kick to the pride (and wallet). but it's a job. i've not accepted it yet. i asked them if i could have the weekend and few days more to think about it as i'm entangled in other interviews. which is true. i'm waiting to see what avega will/can offer. assuming they offer me anything at all. the cleartrack contract position hasn't had any movement either...so i can't just wait around for it. as i've waited 3 months already on that. blah. so anyway, i got my pcmcia nic for my laptop thurs afternoon and started monkeying with that. mal came over and brought his new laptop. we mostly sat on the couch watching bad tv and playing on our laptops. but we did run over to best buy so he could buy two dvds. friday i sat around here for a bit trying to figure out job stuff, then julie came over as she had to be in nashville anyway. we went on back to m'boro and ate at city cafe. then we went and rented the first season of this show called coupling. it's basically a british version of friends, but being british is of course much better. er, so saturday i took my bimmer up to the guy that replaced the muffler to have him replace the lower control arm on the passenger side, recharge the ac, and fix the door handle where he got it crooked last time. that ran me a nice $336.82. also on sat i went and ate at the big shindig julie's granny was having. that was good. sunday i sat around with my parents, replaced a shot bulb on the bimmer and got an air filter that i've not put in just yet. gonna wait till it warms up a bit more so the hoses will work a bit better. julie was here when i got home sun evening; she'd brought over some shit to move in to here. so we put that up and she watched alias as i played on the laptop. oh, and i got some curtains for the computer room from jc penny's sat night. actually it was a very long scarf and we cut it into three pieces and sewed it up. but they wound up being just about as short as the other curtains, but there are 3 panels in these curtains. and they're black. so they block out light a good bit better.
blah. i'm getting a headache. perhaps i should eat something.
