the party at erin's was fun. not many ppl showed up, but that was fine by me. oh, and i went by the rape and sexual abuse center; found it pretty easy. it's a block away from a XXX book/video store with big bright neon lights. yesterday i drove the subaru (as i did wed) cause i'd rather be out in my crap car on halloween in case someone decides to throw eggs/rocks on the interstate. so coming down the off ramp i feel the car do something a little odd. very small. but i keep going. go 'bout 300 yards past that and i smell something. smells like a burning clutch, but the subaru is an automatic...bout the time i look at the temp gauge i see smoke coming out from under the hood. nice. i'm at a red light with a car infront of me so i can't go anywhere. 'bout 20 secs later the light changes and i wheel over into this little strip mall kinda thing on the corner. i pop the hood and see coolant leaking out from under the car so i know that's boiled over..but i didn't smell the coolant burning..just that odd rubber smell. i feel the hood to gauge how hot the thing is and the hood is still cool. not even lukewarm. ..ok. so i pop the hood and some smoke billows out. i'm looking around and don't see much..but it's dark. i call malachi and ask him to come over with some water and a good flashlight. he gets there and notices that my fan belt looks like shit..and is broke. after conferring with pop (cell phone) we decide to venture out and get a fan belt ourselves and replace it. so, to cut this as short as i can we get a belt, put it on and start the engine up. well actually we put some water in before we started it up, but anyway it runs for about 20 secs and we see more smoke. i freak so i turn it off. another call to pop and we figure a chunk of the previous belt is caught up and and burning somewhere...so we let it run for a bit to see if we can find it and then mal and i notice the pulley that moves the water pump isn't moving. that's bad. so i turn the engine off again and malachi puts forth the theory that the smoke is from the new belt smoking it up on the water pump pulley that's not turning. prolly right. so we got back to malachi's so i can get it towed. wind up staying there for a while cause the towers can't get to my car for a while..when they finally do we get it on home alright. so that party kinda went to shit. and kimberly was sick and doug had a headache.
*sigh*
so i reckon i'm still going to bill and pam's party tonight. julie will spend the night with me at my parents and then she'll head home in the morning. and i'm guessing pop and i will come back to nashville to work on the subaru. he's wanting to try and replace the water pump himself, but i'm figuring we'll have to take the radiator out to even get to it. not impossible, but it won't be fun. then i'll come back with him sat night whenever we're done or give up and then i'm playing dnd sunday. shit! i just remembered...angel comes on at 8. guess i'll have to get julie to tape angel and watch alias.
