alright, this is prolly going to be a very long post. i guess i'll try and be terse with some things just to shorten it down some. friday night i saw juile per the usual and we ate dinner in and watched firefly, and she read me some harry potter. i'd figured saturday morning would be kinda slow and dull, but my parents got back from some yard sale and mom wanted me to clean up and all of us go to the flea market up near livingston..so we did that, but i had to rush around and run over to the post office to send off a money order for these two tori singles i'd won on ebay thurs night. so we go to the flea market and they don't have much there; but i did get nadja on vhs for $4. we went on up to livingston and shopped around at a store there then came back home. stopped by green's auto parts and got a hose for the bimmer and some oil and an oil filter. me and pop replaced the hose without too much trouble and it idles much better now. and runs better too. then i went on to play dnd with the guys. oh, heh i got an extra half sandwich from bellacino's for free, but i didn't think and left it out in the car for a few hours, which with chicken and mayo wasn't a good idea. so in the garbage that went. sunday we changed the oil in the bimmer, and then doug and i headed off to atlanta. stopped at this overlook past dunlap to take some pics, but the fucking batteries i'd just put in the camera went dead after one picture. *sigh* so we kept on trucking and made it keenan's. played gta: vice city for a few mins (which was just too cool) and then had some mexican. we shot the shit for a bit, then headed back to his place and went on to the concert. didn't have any trouble finding it which was cool. um, went in and i started wading through the line..well, mob at the merchandise table. doug decided to go stand by the door we'd need to go in through to get to our seats. so i get up to the front of the table and they actually havea medium size shirt, so i get that and a tour book. $50. get back over to doug and realize the shirt is way too fucking small. *sigh* so i go back in line and swap out for a medium, which didn't take as long this time cause the opening act was already on. got back to the door and needed to go potty, so doug then decides to just go on in to his seat while i go take another seat. per the usual, there were girls in the guys bathroom, which i'm use to at this point. but there were 3 _very_ drunk girls in one of the stalls. fortunately i didn't hear them during the concert. had some trouble finding my seat in the dark, but i finally saw doug and took my seat. it was row M, but seemed closer than some of the venues i've been to when it's around that letter/row. and the seats seemed to be, well rather slanted or dipped or something cause i wasn't fighting to see over ppl's heads. well, except for the two tall fucking guys that sat infront of me (go figure) but still it wasn't bad. when the guy right infront of me moved to the right a bit, i could see tori from head to toe and could see all of the rhodes, wurlitzer, and bosie. the bass seemed to be too loud at first, and was a bit much all through the night, but i think that's cause we were down in front. she had me tore up during the middle of the concert i'd guess..during quiet time and a bit after. she played mother first during quiet time and fuckin' a she was really into it. i think she was getting choked up near the end. i've heard she plays that song sometimes when her parents are in the crowd..but i also heard someone requested it at the meet and greet, so i dunno. then she played not the red baron which was very beatiful (well hell, the whole show was), and then she played famous blue raincoat, which i don't believe i've seen live before and goddamn it was just spot on. lots of good stuff. doug got a bit bored by the end cause it just sounded like booming bass and indistinguishable lyrics to him. sadly the concert did have to end and we went about an hour north of atlanta. we saw some cool lightning while headed north and knew there were suppose to be some storms...well when it started raining like pouring piss out of a boot we decided to pull on over and just get a room there. wherever there was. so we get this room for $25..and amazingly it was in pretty good shape. i've stayed in much worse and paid lots more. but we saw all these alerts on the tv, but had no idea where we were. doug deduces where we're at from a map in the phone book, and it turns out there is a tornado watch in the county directly west of us..with the storm headed east. *yea* but i dont' think it ever got too bad where we were at. just lots of rain and lightning/thunder, so we finally bed down after watching some of the anna nicole show. there was no clock in the room so we had no idea what time it was when we kept waking up in the morning. but when the door opened and the cleaning lady started to come in on us, we figured it was checkout time. we heard her go to the next room over and call us on our phone asking if we were going to leave or stay another day. heh. so we got out of bed, threw on some clothes and hit the road. we stopped at hamilton place in chattanooga to diddle around and then we drove up shallowford a bit and back down brainerd looking for pawn shops. only found one. then we just came on back to sparta. i got my crap and headed back out for yet more driving. stopped by granny tobitt's on the way home since i figured mom was there cause my uh..great uncle i think passed away and was buried yesterday. and as i figured she was there, so i visited for a bit and then came on back. home at last. got settled in and started to watch angel and apparently my tape fucked up or something cause i got the first 45 seconds, then it just goes to static. *sigh* so i guess i'll have to borrow kimberly's tape. again. i'm sure she's getting tired of this. and i think julie missed it too, so i'll prolly have to keep the tape till next week or something. so after that i get on the computer and noodle around on ebay and win an auction for scarlet's stories. lady was throwing in a scarlet's walk window cling too. and now i come back to work and have shitloads to do. odd for facility requests to come in during the middle of the month like this. ah well.
oh, and the ppl at the tori concert..now granted i was mostly in the merchandise mob and then went into the seating with it dark, but i looked around a good bit between the opening act and when tori came on and noticed how everybody just looked...normal. there was no one with fairy wings on, no crowns/tiaras, no make up, no glitter, no leashes/chains/whips, nothing. well, there were a few girls that looked like they shopped at hot topic..but damn. i figured atlanta woudl have an even wilder looking crowd. i mean there was this queen at the ryman show last year. very loudly dressed. and plenty of others in the same vein. but..i dunno. it was so weird to see such a mundane looking crowd.
erm..i think that's it. more than most of you cared about i'm sure.
