alright, sit back and get ready cause this will be a large (mostly boring i'm sure) update.
friday work kinda sucked. in short something pretty important downstairs broke and it boned things up considering we were going into a 3 day weekend. they finally got it fixed but the fallout lasted all day and actually made me leave 15 mins late. julie left at 4pm or so to go to a football game in birmingham, so i'd decided to have a night with jody and doug. so i head home on I40 and about 2 miles from exit 286 (where i was going to get off the interstate) a trooper pegs me going 85 in a 70. so i get my lovely little ticket for $130 and start wondering about ways to get out of having this on my record. would the traffic school i went to in watertown be on my record? would the ticket i got in watertown even be on my record? would i be able to go to traffic school this time around? etc. i've still not got an answer just yet. *sigh* so i head on into town and doug, jody, and i eat at rafferty's, watch some mst3k at jody's place, and call it a night. sat morning me and my parents head out to the cumberland gap. pop wasn't listening to me so well it seems and we missed an exit or two on the way up there, but nothing serious. it's all scenic anyway. we stayed in a different hotel than we did last year; it was up on the hill before you go down into the town, but it's only .5 a mile i'd say. so saturday we eat lunch at webb's. i had an ostrich burger and some fried taters. yum-ee. then we shopped around town a bit and headed back to the hotel. we'd made reservations at the tea room ('nice' restaurant) for supper. we eat a fucking great supper there. mom and i got this dijon pork tenderloin. christ it was good. and it came with 3 pieces of meat. it was just about more than i could eat. and i got a white chocolate cheescake for dessert, but could only eat a bite or two so i had it to go. after that we drive up to middlesboro, ky (just 3 mins away) to see if they had a mall or not cause none of us could remember. they do have one, and it's about like the cookeville mall really. by the time we got there it was pretty much closing up (we mostly went to see if they had one or not) so we go back to the motel and let our suppers settle down a bit and go on to sleep. sunday pop and i ate breakfast at webb's. here is where i had my country ham 'n biscuit with fried taters. goddamn they were good. after that we picked mom back up from the hotel room, checked out and went up on the outlook that looks over the town and the actual gap. then we went on to middlesboro for some shopping. i don't think any of us got anything, but i found this cool corduroy jacket in jc penneys. had flannel on the inside..tres cool. but i've got a jacket, so i passed on it. we had sort of planned on eat lunch at this place in middlesboro that has this fuckin huge buffet, but we'd noticed a sign in the tea room the night before that mentioned they had a sunday buffet. considering how good the pork was, we were hooked on going back for some more. though i told them i wasn't sure if they'd have it not really...you never can tell with a sign. but we decided even if they didn't they had other stuff we wanted to eat. so we get there and no buffet, but i got a grilled chicken salad that was rather tasty. after leaving there we noticed this little bed and breakfast on a backstreet we hadn't been around before. we got out to try and look it over, but they seemed to be closed or something. so i eat the rest of my cheescake and we head on home. oh, sun night i tried a red fusion from dr pepper. honestly it didn't seem to even have a taste or aftertaste. just sort of a carbonated sugary thing. also, sunday afternoon julie informs that mr. kopek (who's buying the garden inn) has canceled our meeting on the monday and rescheduled it for sept 25th or some shit. *grrr* i'm not sure if he really appreciates the situation he's putting us in. fucknut. so, monday me and pop work on the computer case one last bit to get it sorted out. pop wants to drive me around in the lumina so i can see how it rides and stuff..and some how fall creek falls got mentioned and i was thinking about checking it out for wedding purposes. so we head out there and talk to this lady about reservations and stuff. i can't remember the cost of the conference rooms exactly now, but you could only reserve one within 3 weeks of the wedding unless you also reserved 20 rooms with it. we guesstimated that rooms would run $70 bucks, so that'd be $1400...er..right. so we drove around the park a bit and honestly i couldn't find a place to even have the wedding. but i'm not that familiar with the place..so i dunno. we get back home from that and cook up some lunch. after that i fix up an excel spreadsheet for mom, we shoot the shit for the last little bit, and i go on home. got the computer together and i'll have some pix of it up in the next update i'd say. i'd do it now, but i'm running this hard drive diag on my main machine cause it blipped out about some bad sectors last week and that's not exactly cool from a 'new' hard drive. as i type this i'm rather nervous of the outcome of this test. stupd long test. oh, but last night after getting the computer together julie calls and says her and erin are at trish's. also my cell phone was ready so julie said her and erin would come over and we'd do something. so i get my phone and play with it a bit. then we go to olive garden and i continue to play with my phone through half of dinner anyway. now here's something i've never seen before. julie got the soup and salad, erin wanted the salad and ordered the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. i had nothing cause i'd pigged all fucking weekend. when it comes time for the check, our server (a guy) tells us he's not going to charge anything cause it's late and they were going to just throw all the stuff out anyway being that late in the night. how fucking bizarre is that?! and why the fuck didn't i eat something then? *sigh* ah well. so julie and erin left shortly after that and then there was work today. dana is out all week and candy was..sick...today. i seriously question that...but anyway today sucked ass cause there were too many orders coming in and it just grinded the system to a halt. or something. at any rate today was about as clusterfucked as friday, if not moreso. *wee* oh, and no cable modem yet. slow ass mail ppl.
and finally here is the pix i took in cumberland gap. some of them are a bit crummy, and some are darker cause it was cloudy and the camera doesn't adjust too well i suppose.
