most of the week went by pretty uneventful. pop's taken the job at kittrell. he seems to like it so far. i've not heard from him since he's actually had kids in his class though. heh, he worked at crossville for a few days before going to kittrell; one of his classes in crossville had 49 students in it. 49...kosher in college, not so much in high school. at kittrell, his alg 1 class has 16 students in it. that makes him very happy.
um, so last night doug brought richard up and we at at olive garden and cruised around best buy for a bit. they had an open item aiwa powered subwoofer marked down from $71 to $29. it was rather tempting, but there was no real easy way to hook it up to my computer the way the current sub/speakers are wired. but i did buy 'alice' for 12.99 (malachi/doug: i'll burn you some copies when i get a chance; oddly it has/needs a cd key). after best buy we went back to my place and just watched some teevee for a bit. doug left at midnight; richard and i watched an old gi joe cartoon and something else, then went to bed at 1am. oh, heh and richard realized that his plane left at 12:48pm, not 7am as he'd thought it had. so..we got to sleep in for a bit. i got up at 8 and installed alice. it crashed once or twice (in game, nothing hardware specific of mine i don't think). it's rather neat looking. her first weapon is a knife and when you kill the card soldiers it cuts them half or cuts their head off and sprays blood everywhere while they scream. *yeeah* play that for a bit and wake richard up; we sit around for a bit after i take a shower and watch a bit of farenheit 451. heard a line that radiohead has used on some artwork ([i'm] not living, just killing time). took him on to the airport and hung out with him for a bit. it was harder to say goodbye this time. last time he was rushing to even get on the plane, so when he got to the security checkpoint, there was no time for long goodbyes. just a 'hope you make the damn plane' and time to wave. i finally find the heart to leave and come on in to work. power went out just a bit a go. the generator is on..but the power isn't fully back on..but it sort of is. some lights are on and some aren't. kinda weird.
julie moved in to her dorm today. think she's gonna come up this evening, but not sure if she'll spend the night since pop (and maybe mom) is coming up tomorrow morning to work on the bimmer. he's gonna get a gauge from the junkyard in manchester and we're going to try and just replace the gauge first before we dig into the engine (and wallet) to fix other things. hopefully the console will come out relatively easy. and hopefully the weather is ok tomorrow.
