hoo boy what a weekend.
friday night julie and i first ran by wal mart so i could buy a new electric razor. i'd seen on one their website i liked for $39. i get to the store and it's $59. i'd feared that would happen. so, we go on to eat supper at House of Kabob and after that we went to kroger to get some grub to eat on for the next few days. i'd also wanted to go by best buy to look at their cdrw's and sound cards but they were closed by the time we got out of kroger. so saturday we sleep in late and finally get up and go to best buy first. they got squat of what i wanted. (though i still may just wind up getting their low end hercules sound card) then we went to media play to look at travel guides and stuff to try and figure out some shit on maine. it looks like the media play here is about to close down. 1/3 of the book shelves were empty and there was a lot of empty floor space compared to a few months ago. the cd, dvd, and computer games section doesn't show it that badly though..so maybe they're just thinning out the books. anyway, we didn't find too much on maine, but had fun sitting in the floor and looking at what few pictures there were. after that were gonna go back by target to get the same shaver wal mart had (for the same price, but i didn't have to drive back out to wal mart) but i took a detour to go to circuit city. turns out they have a 32/10/40 speed tdk cdrw drive for $109 with a $50 rebate, which was a pretty sweet deal. so i got that and we ran by toys 'r us too so julie could frolick in the pink aisle. when we got out of there though traffic was plumb stoved up in hickory hollow and it was hot as hell so we bypassed target and just went straight home. fixed some black beans and rice, cheese, and tomatoes and stuffed that in some pitas. shortly after that doug and jody showed up and we left out to go bowling at tusculum lanes. malachi and andy met us there shortly after. misty showed up a bit later and at this point julie opened her presents that ppl had gotten her. i'll let her cover that on her journal. then trish showed up about the time we were done bowling and we headed out to the spaghetti factory to eat supper. william met us there while we were waiting to be seatted. dinner went well, and after that misty and trish went home and everyone else came back to my place to play cranium and then watch dogma. everyone headed out shortly after the movie was over. sunday juile and i sat around all day pretty much. she read lots of harry potter and the chamber of secrets to me. it's so much more fun to hear her read it. she does voices and everything. we ran by target to get my shaver, we fixed a pizza for lunch and scrounged up some pita pizzas for supper. heh, about 6pm julie remembered she wouldn't be able to get back in her dorm cause she doesn't have a key and they've really locked the dorms down this week since there are no more camps there for summer. so she stayed over last night too and read me more harry potter. this morning it was hard as hell to leave her. seeing her more on the weekends makes me miss her even more when the weekend is over and this weekend was the most i've been with her in a long time.
*sigh*
so, jury duty took me like 2 fucking hours to finally get through on their phone number. 'bout 7pm i get the secret msg to call back monday, aug 12 after 5pm. ...ok.
the new cdrom seems to do ok so far. i've not had a chance to burn anything yet to test it's speed at that, but no locks up as of yet. the tray seems a bit weak after it gets about half way out. hope that doesn't die on me after some time.
bleh, gonna have to wash a load of whites tonight. not sure if i want to wash my work clothes or not. may just make it a total cleanup night as my apt needs dusting pretty badly and i'm sure it could use a sweep of the vacuum.

man, bowling has made my legs hurt in places i didn't know i had leg.
